    About Marvin

    Marvin Price is running for re-election for West Park Commissioner, Seat 4. He continues to be firmly committed to fighting for West Park and putting people first.

    Marvin Price is a former President of the Carver Ranches/Hyde Park Homeowners’ Association, a Past Commander of VFW Post 8195, and a Past Post Master of the United States Postal Service. He has the leadership and experience to move West Park forward.

    Marvin was born January 27th, 1950 to Alberta & Jonas Price Jr. in Marlow, Georgia. Marvin married Betty Rose Young (deceased 2018) on February 6th, 1971. Of this union, two precious children were born, Letitia W. Price (Fairburn, GA) and Brian D. Price (Decatur, GA). Marvin has one grandchild (Sage) who he lovingly refers to as Princess.

    Marvin graduated from Springfield Central High and attended Broward Community College for Business Administration. Marvin and Betty moved into the community of Carver Ranches in February 1973. He continues to reside on the corner of Marvin Price Street and President Obama Boulevard. Marvin and his family were the proud owners of P&S Beauty Supply located in Carver Ranches for 15 years.

    A veteran of the United States Air Force, Marvin served during the Vietnam War. He is an honorable and dedicated Life Member of VFW Post 8195. Marvin retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years of dedicated service. He is a Member of the Board of Directors at Carver Ranches Child Care Center and Kindergarten and has served in various capacities around Broward County, including the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s South Broward Community Council, the Broward County Code Enforcement Ad-Hoc Committee, and as Carver Ranches Boys & Girls Club board member.

    Marvin Price is proud to reside in the City of Positive Progression. When asked why community service is so important to him, Marvin states: “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” Through the years, Marvin’s work, in partnership with other community members, has catapulted the City of West Park to greatness.
